Hogue 2003 Late Harvest White Riesling Columbia Valley ($10). A lovely, affordable dessert wine, this offers ripe apricot and nectarine fruit laced with orange zest and caramel. Medium- to light- bodied, but with plenty of flavor oomph. Ready to drink now. A natural with sorbets, shortbread cookies and homemade Biscotti! (Weekend Wine, 08/04)
Pacific Rim 2007 Riesling Columbia Valley Selenium Vineyard Vin de Glaciere ($14, 375ml). Lush and honeyed, but not heavy, offering concentrated dried apricot and peach flavors and aromas laced with toffee and freshly grated nutmeg and clove spice. Ready to drink now and over the next couple of years. (2011-01-26)
