Talus 1996 Pinot Noir ($9). My particular favorite of the Talus lineup, it is smooth and well-balanced, and has won wine industry accolades. Recently, I saw a message posted on a message board on the web. The guy was raving about the Talus Pinot Noir he had enjoyed at a restaurant while on vacation in San Francisco. However, he was concerned about availability of the wine outside of California. The posted response to his message read something like this: “Well, I live in Kentucky and we have Talus on the shelves here. And if we can get it in Kentucky . . .” Perhaps that should be our “easy to find” standard — if you can get it in Kentucky . . . (ETFOFW 10/99) Locate this wine online or in your area.
