Bassermann-Jordan
2000 Riesling Kabinett Pfalz Deidesheimer Paradiesgarten ($16). Spicy peach and pineapple aromas and flavors, fleshy mouthfeel, dry mineral note emerges on lingering finish. Ready to drink now and over the next couple of years. (Robyn’s Picks, 04/04)
2000 Riesling QbA Pfalz ($14). Really liked this wine! A great example of balance – with racy citrus fruit vs. honeyed peach. Lovely honeysuckle and spice accents; good length on finish. Ready to drink now and over the next couple of years. (Weekend Wine, 05/04)
1998 Riesling Beerenauslese Pfalz Ruppertsberger Reiterpfad ($91). Rich, smooth, honeyed apricot is the star here. Unexpected notes of apple and pear lend a bright quality that is delightful. Spice on the finish lingers beautifully. Excellent now and should cellar for at least five or six more years. (Wine Tasting Party, 06/00)
1998 Riesling Kabinett Pfalz Deidesheimer Paradiesgarten ($15). Dry but rich, this Kabinett has a fuzzy navel thing happening – all peaches and spice. The nice acidic, clean finish keeps it balanced. Ready now, but will hold for a few years. (Wine Tasting Party, 06/00)
