Château Clos Haut-Peyraguey 2003 Sauternes ($30, 375 ml). A an appealing mini-Sauternes, with juicy stone fruit, fig and honey flavors that are ripe and delectable, if not overly complex. Ready to drink now and over the next four or five years. (Weekend Wine 05/06)

Chateau Filhot 1998 Sauternes (375 ml, $20). Rich sweet spicy apple accented with honey and vanilla cream. (Wine Tastings, 04/03)

Domaines Barons de Rothschild (Lafite) 2006 Chateau de Cosse Sauternes ($25, 350 ml). Loved it — intense apricot marmalade aromas and flavors are silky and honeyed, with ripe pear, mineral and citrus peel notes, plenty of botrytis character, fresh acidity, and a super-long finish. Ready to drink now but will also age beautifully for another 5+ years. Locate this wine online or in your area. (2010-04-05)
