Domaine du Chêne2006 Condrieu ($55). Intensely aromatic, with youthful peach, apricot skin, mineral, spice and floral notes that linger on a creamy, lingering finish. Very good. Condrieu/Viognier fans (like me!) will love it. Ready to drink now and over the next two or three years. Locate this wine online or in your area. (2009-02-07)

Jean-Luc Colombo 2003 Viognier La Violette ($13). The pretty, soft side of Viognier, with floral accents to white peach and lychee flavors on a light- to medium-bodied structure. Easy with food. Ready to drink now. (Bargain Wine 06/05)

La Vielle Ferme Blanc ($9). This was really the surprise hit – frankly, we had a hunch we’d like the reds, but weren’t quite as sure about the white. Inexpensive white wine can really be awful. But this blend of Rhone varietals (Grenache blanc, Bourboulenc, Ugni Blanc, and Roussane) was unexpectedly complex and appealing. Just a touch of oak adds roundness and depth to the flavor profile, while leaving a clean and refreshing finish. Outstanding with cold seafood dishes, and perfect at cocktail time. (ETFOFW, 04/02)

Perrin 2003 Cotes du Rhone White Reserve ($11). Supple apricot, nectarine and tangerine flavors are juicy and quaffable, staying focused through the generous finish. Ready to drink now. (Bargain Wine 06/05)

St.-Cosme 2003 Cotes du Rhone Blanc ($14). Zesty flavors include lemon curd and crisp apple, with appealing mineral and fig on the finish. Ready to drink now and over the next couple of years. (Bargain Wine 06/05)
