"a bottle of wine
opened before its time is a crime"
- old winemaker's proverb
Even if you know you're
looking for a Chardonnay or Cabernet,
trying to decide which ones to buy can
be a little overwhelming. Walking up and
down those aisles at a wine shop feels
a bit like walking through a huge candy
store -- everything looks great, but after
a little while, it all starts to look
alike. How do you choose? How do you know
which wine is the best choice to satisfy
your particular taste buds and still fit
your budget?
Research and then some old
fashioned trial and error is one way,
but can sometimes leave you disappointed.
Email
me the details of what you're looking
for in a Chardonnay or a Cabernet, or
both. Include how much you want to spend
and what sorts of tastes appeal to you.
I'll respond to you by email with several
choices that should fit the bill.
If you don't already know about ,
then let me tell you about them. For years,
I have purchased the latest vintage of
this wine, and I've always been very satisfied.
It consistently provides a rich vanilla
and oak taste for under $10. This is great,
reliable wine that works wonderfully with
food, and can serve a crowd at a great
price. Try the 1997 vintage that's currently
on the shelves.
is a very full, balanced cabernet, and
one of my current favorites. It's loaded
with ripe fruit, from the first sip to
the last swallow. Great finish. Very nice
for the modest price of $18.
