Wine & Health: Can't we all just lighten up?

We get a ridiculous amount of questions on the carb content of wine – more proof, I suppose, of the vast numbers of people trying the low-carb diets and studiously counting the carb content of every sip and morsel they put in their mouths. Presumably between pieces of bacon and slabs of beef. But God forbid they eat a piece of toast or drink a glass of wine. And something about no carrots or peas, either…

Anyway, in an effort to get all of you carb-nazis to LIGHTEN UP (and embrace the concept of healthy moderation, while you’re at it), we thought we’d pass along this email joke -- even if you've all seen it before!

FACTS:

The Japanese eat very little fat and suffer fewer heart attacks than the British or Americans.

The French eat a lot of fat and also suffer fewer heart attacks than the British or Americans.

The Japanese drink very little red wine and suffer fewer heart attacks than the British or Americans.

The Italians drink excessive amounts of red wine and also suffer fewer heart attacks than the British or Americans.

CONCLUSION:

Eat and drink what you like. Speaking English is apparently what kills you.
