Fetzer 2000 Sauvignon Blanc California Echo Ridge ($9). This is a great value – complex and layered, well-balanced, full of focused fruit that features citrus and sweet pear notes. Fresh, slightly oaky finish. Ready to drink now.

R.H. Phillips 2000 Sauvignon Blanc Dunnigan Hills ($7). Intense and zippy, this is a fun wine with plenty of personality. Bright orchard fruit is accented with citrus and herbs, ending in a mouthwatering finish. Ready to drink now.

Beringer 2000 Nouveau California ($8). This Gamay and Syrah blend is a fun surprise. Easy to drink, food-friendly, and showing medium weight red berry and cherry fruit with a touch of spice. Ready to drink now.

Buena Vista 2000 Sauvignon Blanc California ($8). Honeyed pear is nicely balanced with herbal notes and racy citrus fruit, and the results are delicious. Tasty finish, too! Ready to drink now.

Delicato 1998 Syrah California ($6). This has been a good buy for the last few vintages. Spicy red fruit and smooth oak, medium-bodied, framed on silky tannins. Easy to pair with a variety of dishes. Ready to drink now.

Meridian 1999 Sauvignon Blanc California ($8). Lovely pear and peach fruit is layered with nutmeg and honeysuckle – this is an elegant style Sauvignon Blanc. Generous finish. Ready to drink now.

Alexander Valley 2000 New Gewurz Gewurztraminer North Coast ($9). This is a dry style Gewurz, offering crisp pear, citrus and spice. A fun alternative to more traditional California whites. Mouthwatering finish. Ready to drink now.
