A couple of weeks ago, I wrote about Kilikanoon winery and lunch with CEO Nathan Waks. At the end of the lunch, Nathan pulled out a sort of briefcase with samples (in uber-cool vintage bottles) of Seppeltsfield fortified wines. Waks is also one of the owners of Seppeltsfield, a Barossa-based winery steeped in Aussie history and originally owned by five generations of the Seppelt family.

As good as the Kilikanoon wines were, it was going to take something special to follow — and these Seppeltsfield fortifieds lived up to the challenge. I would recommend any of them for a warm glow on one of these cold winter nights.

We tasted a number of wines from Seppeltsfield’s fortified lineup, including their ultra-premium Paramount collection. Honestly, they were all good. So read the stories (really interesting stories, I should say) and pick your price range… And happy sipping!
