    Love this from Markham Vineyards!

Markham Vineyards, a pioneering Napa Valley winery with a long history of community involvement, has announced a call for applicants for the second annual Mark of Distinction. Continuing on last year’s impactful program, Markham Vineyards is offering two $25,000 grants to individuals across America committed to making a “Mark of Distinction” in their neighborhood, town or city.

Passionate, inspiring candidates with a project intended to make a lasting difference in their community can enter at www.markhammarkofdistinction.com from now until June 30. The program is designed to empower individuals to make positive, tangible change across America, and projects can range from repairing dilapidated parks, to building a memorial, to creating a community center. To enter, submit a proposal of no more than 300 words that describes the initiative, rationale and inspiration. A brief budget and timeline detailing how and when project funds will be used must also be presented.

Beginning July 27, 10 finalists and their dream projects will be selected and posted on the Web site. The public will then vote to determine two winners, who will be awarded $25,000 each to make a lasting local change – a “Mark of Distinction” – in their communities.
