• Pairing: Filo with Gorgonzola Dolce and Honey & Leftover Bubbly!

    If you have any bottles of bubbly leftover from New Year’s, here’s an easy pairing. These filo bites are a snap to put together and work equally well pre- or post-meal.

    Recipe: Hors d’oeuvres: Filo Bites with Gorgonzola Dolce & Honey
    1 package frozen filo cups
    4-6 oz. Gorgonzola dolce (or other young, mild, creamy blue cheese)
    Sardinian bitter honey (miele amaro) or wildflower honey
    sliced almonds, lightly toasted

    img_0250_copyBake filo cups according to package instructions. While filo cups are still warm, place a small knob of cheese in each cup. Drizzle rather generously with honey and scatter toasted almonds over all.

    Wine Pairing: Bubbly! These are a particularly good choice for off-dry bubbles like Moscato d’Asti, but any bubbly will do just fine.
